Kidney Stones

Hi There! I just found out last week that I have kidney stones. They are very low right now, but after a week of being very low have not moved at all. Extreme pain. My Doc is going to call in a Urologist too get rid of them. Can someone explain what it is that they do? Also is there any way possible that I can "pass" them without surgery. Although I must admitt I am on percocet for pain, it is almost unbearable & I have heard that passing them is 100% worse.

Thanks,

A.
