DischargeFrom: Kate (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 22 Oct 2001 14:44:06 -0500 (CDT)
I have been to 3 doctors 6 different times for my discharge problem. The discharge varies from white to yellow to brown, and from thin to thick. There is an odor(unclean, sometimes fishy) the week before and after my period. There isn't any itching. I first noticed it during sex, it was all over my boyfriend. The first doctor I saw told me that I had small amounts of bacteria and I was given Metro-Gel to fix the problem, which did not work. Then I went to a different doctor (3 different times) and she couldn't find any bacteria or yeast. She did give me Flagyl (sp?) for bacteria just to see if it would help. She finally got tired of seeing me and referred me to a different gyno. He said he couldn't figure out what the problem was, (the tests showed no bacteria or yeast), although my vagina did appear to be red and irritated. He thought it may be some kind of yeast, so he gave me a gel for that. This didn't help either. I have called him to let him know, and they want to see me again. However, I can't get an appointment with him for over a month, and I can't stand dealing with this any longer (it has already been a year). Do you have any idea what my problem could be? Thank you in advance for your help!
