Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: Second dermoid cyst" After a recent sonogram, I was told that I have a 7cm dermoid cyst on my right ovary. This is my second one on the same side. My first dermoid cyst was identified Feb 2000 and was removed via laparotomy in June 2000. I am full of questions such as 1) What causes a dermoid cyst? 2) Are there natural remedies for preventing/dissolving them? 3) What are the risks of repeat appearance? 4) Since I now have had two on the same side - should that ovary be removed?
