Hi, I'm 20 and have suffered from acne since being 13 I have tried most products, and am also a pharmacy student so have got a pretty good idea what side effects they have. The minocin you are taking is killing good bacteria, so the candida that cause thrush thrive. Eating plenty of bioactive yoghurt may help or taking a lactobacillus supplement, to replace good bacteria. Dianette is a very good treatment, a friend of mine has taken it, however I can't as there is a history of blood clotting in my family. Provided you go for check ups to keep your BP under check I don't think it should be harmful and you can come off it if it does go up. However Dianette contains oestogen which may again aggravate you thrush.

Have you tried any topical antibiotics e.g. steimycin, dalacin or zineryt, these are applied to your skin so would not cause the thrush. hope this helps email me if you want any more info becky
