I am a 44 year old woman, I have 2 children living. I had a premature birth at 6 months and she was still born and I had an abortion when I was 17, which apparently damaged my cervix, causing it to be incompetent, which in turn caused the premature birth, thus I needed to have the purse string stitching around my cervix for the next 2 pregnancys. I have had irregular periods every since my son, my last child, was born,( he is now 19), they are now 33 days apart. In the last 2 months I have noted, pain in the middle of my cycle with spotting, when I wipe, no spots on my underware. This pain is worse around the middle of my period and usually hangs around until my period is over, so i usually have a good week to 1 1/2 weeks without pain, or spotting.a GYN appointment on Oct 24, 2001, it has been about 3 years since I went last, and I am ashamed to say the fear of what is wrong, almost paralyzes me from going..
