The age of consent in my state is 16, and I just turned 18 about 3 days ago, and she will be 16 this Friday. According to my brother - who is a cop - I have no legal liability for our relationship, and I would not be prosecuted for the actions of a week. According to him, Statutory Rape laws are designed to be enforced against long-term relationships, and not a 7 day overlap because of a birthday. Thank you for your help, though - I appreciate it.
