Re: Precocious pubertyFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netWed, 5 Sep 2001 20:25:35 -0500 (CDT)
Riki, here are some tips for you your daughter may start here period in a year because of that discharge. Also, make sure you let your daughter know she's normal and I know you may not like her quick changes because your lil girl is growin up and you may end up with a rowdy teenager. But please remember as when we were all devolping n how the kids reacted especially the immaturity level of boys we had in our classrooms. At least 60% of girls have already reached puberty before they have hit junior high and already gotten their period. So make sure your daughter gets her privacy and don't gawk at her too much . Because she will get plenty of that anyways at her schools. Make sure she knows about the woman changes and about her period if she doesn't and make sure she's ready n tell her that it's normal to get it at that time because girls can get their period around 9-16 yrs of age. You should tell her about "sex" and about rape. Make sure that she knows that she shouldn't let anyone do that to her especially if she don't want it n says stop and tell her she should tell her mom about it or a grown up about it. Also, make sure she knows to stay away from drugs and alchol try and have her get signed up in a Dare Program . Also try n get her into a activity that she likes to do. Take her to the park have her swing on the swing. Remember to give her regular chores to do. Also since your daughter is becoming a woman write a checklish about becoming a woman here's what you have to do Use deodrant and have her check it off. Teach her how to shave her legs n her armpits if you haven't already more hair on her armpits can make her armpits stink even more. Also, show her where you keep your maxi pads or tampons so when she gets her period she is prepared. I hope this helps and remember a mom being there for her girl n letting her know she is normal will make a mother and daughter bond much more quicker.
