Is that it?

Hi, I am 16 and have been to my doc twice regarding excruciatingly painful periods. After another normal start of the cycle day, I am exhausted (from fighting the pain), tired (been horizontal all day), have stomach pain and feel shaky, nauseated and 'weird' after drugging myself with max. dosage of Feminax and Ibuprofen to have a peaceful night. (that was so embarrassing I cryed in front of my dad)

I am desperate, I don't think I could cope with anymore days like this. The pain nearly made me throw up today. Feminax was a first, and did not work at all. Ibuprofen takes a lot of pain away but is starting to cause horrible side-effects. Trouble is my doc says it is normal to have period pain and I may grow out of it. To be honest I never see any of my friends like this, ever! The worst sit with a hot water bottle and 2 paracetamol in mild discomfort. I just dread the day when I'm without medication, or become so over sensitised to it, I can't use it anymore.

Just in need of some advice really, what else can I do? I get light-headed and the pains radiate to my back, I can honestly compare the pain to early labour pain, it comes in waves, has me screaming or writhing in agony for up to 5 minutes, I get up to 1 min relief then it happens again, for up to 6 hours continuously. I don't get the pain any other time unless I'm doing sport. I just don't feel my doc realises the extend of my pain, or maybe it's me, should I be concerned?

I hate having to take pills every month, what causes the pain? Animals don't suffer like this.
