question about frequent ruptured ovarian cystsFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netThu, 30 Aug 2001 14:55:32 -0500 (CDT)
I have experienced 10 ruptured ovarian cysts in 18 months. The first time it happened I rushed to the emergency room thinking it might be toxic shock because of the symptoms. I was told it was a ruptured cyst and was advised to begin taking the pill. I made an appointment with an obgyn and did start taking birth control, but it doesn't seem to be helping. When my cysts rupture I experience an hour of severe pain and vomiting and can hardly walk for the next couple of days. It is a huge inconvenience(not to mention the worst pain of my life!)but my doctor doesn't seem too concerned. Should I be?
