Cervical Cryo-Surgery & Effects

My best friend underwent cervical cryo-surgery in July. She is 22 years old and has been sexually active. They used nitric oxide to freeze/kill pre-cancerous cells on her cervix. She has been experiencing right lower quadrant pain for some time now. She also quit taking her birth control pills about 3 months ago. She has not had a regular perioud since then. She says she has been having "crampy" pains for about a week now and I thought that she might be ovulating. But the pain has persisted and she has not started her period. She has taken two pregnancy tests and they both came back negative. She has a follow-up appointment for the cryo-surgery in October. The doctor that performed the procedure told her that a scab would form on the cervix at the spot of the freezing, and then the scab would eventually come out. Well, she told me tonight that no scab or anything unusual has come out. So my question is, what should she do about this persistent pain? Could it be something so serious that she needs to go to the doctor before October? Thank you for your consideration in answering this question.
