Question about birth control pills side effects...From: anonymous@obgyn.netSun, 12 Aug 2001 13:25:29 -0500 (CDT)
I have been taking ortho novum since three months prior to my wedding. I was a virgin until my wedding night, however my husband and I did "fool around," prior to marriage but did not have sex. up until I had been on the pill for about 2 months I had sexual "feelings" or desires for him and to be with him, however sex on our wedding night was very painful. I also now have no desires or wants to have sex. I think the main reason sex is painful is because I experience dryness even if I use a lubricant. Prior to our marriage I would get very wet inside and was never dry. Also, if he "comes" inside of me then I experience a very severe burning sensation, strong enough that I cannot go to sleep and I usually get up and soak in the bathtup after sex. Could these complications be due to the ortho novum 777 birth control pill that I have been taking. I will be switching to Mircette next month. My obgyn told me that a lower estrogen level would help me get some weight off that I've gained since using ortho novum. Please help. It's very hard for me to bring these questions up to my obgyn in person. Thank you.
