Re: length of time between periods

I'm in a similar situation. I'm 19, and since my first period at age 12 it has been regular to the day (27 day cycle), until recently. For the last few months it has become irregular, ranging from 33-36 days, with terrible cramps on the first day sometimes so bad I literally can't get out of bed (whereas before I never had any cramps). I've never been involved with anybody, never even 'fooled around', so I know that has nothing to do with it. So I'm wondering if I should be concerned. I don't have a family doctor, and never been to a gyno. Guess you could say I'm scared of doctors, but I've never had a concern until now so it never much mattered. Any advice, or ideas as to what could be wrong? Thanks!
