Heather, I am not sure when you can start taking your pills. When I was on Ortho tricyclen I had to wait til the first day of my period to start taking them, but it is different with every pill. Since you are not sure when to start taking your pills I suggest that you call your physcian and ask him or you can ask your pharmicist even. For more information about the pill itself you can go to http://www.mircette.com/ may ask how old you are and what menstrual problems you are facing? I hope I have been of some help to you. Take Care, Amanda
