Heavy PeriodsFrom: Stephanie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 12 Jul 2001 19:22:56 -0500 (CDT)
I am 23 yrs. old. I got my period at age 12 and have had abnormally heavy periods ever since. At one point, I bled for ONE WHOLE YEAR-STRAIGHT THROUGH, without stopping. I have been to 4 states in search of an answer. I've tried birth control, shots, hormones, everything. One dr. even gave me stimate(a nasal spray) which did nothing. Over the years, it's gotten so bad that I can't even walk when I bleed. It just pours out like water, sometimes clots. I've had ultrasounds, blood tests, even MRI's. The only thing that has ever worked is a hormone called premarin 0.625 mg 4 times a day combined with 200mg Depo Provera shots every 3 months. This worked for a few months until now. The bleeding is back and as horrible as ever. All of my doctor's have given up on me. Hopefully, someone on this site can help me. I'll try anything! Thanks!
