I'm 25 years old, I want to get pregnant but I have irregular periods

I am 25 years old and have been taking the pill (Loestrin, lowest dose) for about 4 years. I have recently quit taking it because my husband and I would like to have a baby. I started taking the pill in the first place because of irregular periods and cramps. My period was always regular while on the pill. Now, that I have stopped taking it, I got my period after 30 days in the first month, and now for the second month it's been 34 days since I have not gotten it. My husband and I would like to have a baby, but I'm not certain that I can get pregnant. I have already taken 2 home pregnancy tests and they both came out negative. I have heard that it sometimes takes a while for the effects of the pill to wear off (sometimes up to 1 year). Is this true? And do you know what could be wrong? Does it seem like we will need help getting pregnant? I have always been worried about not being able to get pregnant when I would eventually want to, but the gyno doctors have always told me that there are many treatments possible. What kinds of treatments are there for such situations? Help...
