Can depo-provera make you infertile? (and other side effects)

June 14, 2001 I had my first shot of depo May 4th 2001, about 10 days before my period. (I wasn't pregnant.) I skipped my period and started spottong around June 1st. I haven't stopped bleeding since. It's gotten stronger and now it's almost a full fledged period. My periods udually don't last more than 3-5 days so this is highly irregular. The last 3 days I have also experienced nausea and pain in my ovaries as well as bruising and have been unable to loose any weight. (I haven't gained any either but was trying to loose.) I will not be taking any more injections and understand that depo can make you infertile for up to 18 months. I was wondering if there is a chance of long term infertility and total infertility. I also know that it can change your periods and make them longer, shortes or at different intervals after the effect of the injection (3 months) supposedly wears of. Is this perpetual or will my periods return to normal. I know MOST people have no trouble at all and would like a straight answer to my questions. If there is ANY chance that I might become infertile or that my periods will not return to normal, I would like to know. Please answer my questions as soon as possible.
