Depo-LupronFrom: Elizabeth (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 12 Jun 2001 10:31:38 -0500 (CDT)
I am aware of most of the side effects, and the great things that it does. However, I have been in and out of the hospital with extreme pain. I have never actually been diagnosed with endometriosis but, I have already had a tube and ovary removed. I have had about three laporoscopy's due to pelvic pain, and the only physical finding's are incurable infection, and adhesions. I have also been on long term antibiotics for this. I have recently had a miscarriage, and because my quant level has returned to normal I have not had a D & C. This past weekend I was hospitalized and put on Delotid q4h prn. I was instructed by the OB/GYN on call that another laporoscopy should be done. I then went to my normal OB/GYN, and he wants to try the Lupron for three months before doing surgery. I am 21 years old and already have one child. I am so tired of living every day in pain that I am willing to give up my other ovary and tube. My physician, however, is reluctant. Will this medication help? Or, am I just being pushed off because of my age? I just don't know if I am going to be living at the hospital as much as I am at home due to pain. I just want to take care of the problem once and for all! Is this too much to ask of my doctor? I am trying so hard to understand where he is coming from, but I don't think he realizes that this is affecting every aspect of my life! My job, my little girl, my personal life, my emotions, When is it time to say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"?
