This message is long, but PLEASE read till the end. I really need your help!

Basically I am suspecting that I have an STD. I am not a person to act careless when it comes to sex, but I just really fell in love. I am no longer with that person and I found out that he had an STD, even though I don't know which one.

Now I want to get tested and here is where my question comes. My case is special, because I don't have any symptoms. I had very slight symptoms that went away after a few days. This was 2.5 months ago.

So, I'm looking for the right doctor to go to for the tests. I don't know where I can find a doctor who is an EXPERT in this area. Most Gynecologists say they can do it, but most of them don't deal with STDs on a day to day basis. Often they are not up to date on the latest tests and give some routine tests that are not accurate enough to deal with a case where there are no symptoms. So, I need to find a doctor who will go FAR AND BEYOND ROUTINE procedures,an expert and knows the best and newly developed tests. This way I won't have to find out 10 yrs. later that there was an STD, but just was not detected.

Public clinics are often outdated too. They they don't have funds to order the more advanced tests, people working there often are not doctors, but nurses who use the most common and simple tests packages, which are not up-to-date.

Please help me out. My primary care physician doesn't know anyone. Thanks a lot.
