Dianette as a contraceptive?

I have been taking Dianette for 6+ months for other reasons, but only recently started relying on it as a contraceptive. I thought i understood from the patient booklet that i couldn't become pregnant as long as i remembered to take all the pills. i have never forgotten to take one, but last week i had sex a number of times during the 7 days when you don't take the pills, and since then i haven't had my period. My boyfriend and I are both starting to get very worried. Is there less protection during those 7 days? My doctor never explained a lot about it when he first prescribed the pill because he knew that at the time i wasn't sexually active. Please help me! -- We are both terrified that i could be pregnant. Izzy
