The pill doesn't make your body think it's pregnant. What it does do is similar to pregnancy in that both the pill and pregnancy have hormones that suppress the hypothalmus and the pituitary, and then THEY don't push the ovary to produce hormones. the difference is the amount of hormone in the pill is totally different than the amount in pregnancy. Secondly, the idea of time limits on the pill was brought forth in the 1970s and has been proven to be incorrect. Hope this helps and write back anytime for more information. HSM
