I have tried to use slim tampons, but I am unable to insert them despite relaxation, reading instructions carefully, etc. I am concerned that my hymen may be imperforate. From looking in a mirror, my hymen seems to cover almost all of my vagina; I have no distinct vaginal opening. I have never been to a gynecologist, and I am concerned that an exam would be impossible or very painful. I don't see how a speculum (or anything) could be inserted inside my vagina. Any advice?
