Is it possible to have ENDOMETRIOSIS at age 17?From: Sarah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 28 May 2001 21:37:12 -0500 (CDT)
Typically my periods are like clockwork, butI've been without a period for almost 3 months now and, after going through the preg tests (3 of which have come back negative), I've researched my other possibilities, and stumbled across info on endometriosis. When I do have periods, they're riddled with *horrible* diarrhea (I can't leave the house for 2 days) and often my days alternate with constipation also. I have deep cramping before and after my period but little during (only the first two days, when I have severe diarrhea). I also experience short jabbing pains in my abdomen between my cycles (I've never pinpointed when during my cycle). I also have slight pain after intercourse (but the intercourse is good, gentle and typically involves an orgasm, on my end). It's a deep pain that doesn't feel like cramps, and it lingers for several hours sometimes. I'm also perpetually tired. I know that these things can (for the mostpart) be linked to other conditions, and just typical PMS,but is there a chance that it could be more? And is a laporoscopy or other invasive procedure worth it to find out that it's really nothing? Thanks
