Emergency ContraceptionFrom: Kelli (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 25 May 2001 05:19:27 -0500 (CDT)
About two weeks ago, I took some emergency contraception due to a split condom. I felt the slightly sick after taking this , but I thought everything was normal. Then I had a period - with about the same flow as my normal period. Two weeks before it was due. This was followed by a small continuing period that has continued up until last night - when it became my full period. Now is when I should have had my period. I have checked that I am not pregnant by using a pregnancy kit. (Clear Blue - from the UK). It stated that it was 99% accurate as it can detect even small amounts of hormone. I wasn't pregnant - but I was wondering if anyone knew what could be causing the continuous period. In addition to this - my breasts are slightly tender, and I have been sick once. Normally when I have a period, my breasts get tender, and I feel bloated. My periods are usually quite heavy. Is this normal after taking emergency contraception?
