Menstrual Cycle After Sex--AH!From: Leudy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 24 May 2001 22:50:30 -0500 (CDT)
I am 17 years old and on Accutane for my acne (works well except for the headaches) and I know that I am not supposed to take the risk of being pregnant while on it because of the side effects to the baby, BUT...I made a stupid mistake and have had sex 3 times since I've been on the medication. 2 out of the 3 times, I used a condom with my partner, but the other time I did not. He didn't ejaculate inside of me (pull out method) and this took place about 2 weeks ago...about a week into my cycle. Now I am on my period again and it's rather strange. I have brown gunky stuff at first (typical), but no real blood, then I work out and I get a lot of blood at once and sometimes large blood clots then nothing at all. I don't know if this is being cause by my accutane or the unusual amount of sexual activity or if there is a possibility that I am pregnant. Either way...the sex will stop, but I still need advice. I made a huge mistake and now it's time to find out the consequences I suppose. Thank for any help that can be given.
