Re: Should I be worried.....From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 24 May 2001 16:30:22 -0500 (CDT)
It's possible that they were in fact just pimples/or shaving bumps. Depending on how closely you shaved, the skin can be "raw" afterwards. Having intercourse afterwards could have infected the skin. If it doesn't clear up in a week, you should go see a doctor. Herpes is a lot worse than what you have described here. Herpes (when it acts up) appears as sores, that sometimes "leak". Think of what cold sores look like. It is actually the same virus. Another test you might want to look into if it doesn't go away and the bumps cause you discomfort is HPV. You can do a search on the internet about, but about 1 in 3 women who are sexually active can have this virus (which is usually symptomless) except for "genital warts" which can be as minor as pimple sized bumps to larger sized bumps. I'm not a medical expert however, I have done lots of research on Herpes (since my boyfriend was diagnosed with "oral herpes") and HPV. And I also shave my privates every now and then. ;-) Hope that helps.
