Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: brown discharge during periods" Recently I've noticed a lot of brown discharge before and after my periods. Before I started on birth control (I've been taking loestrin for about a year) I would sometimes notice a little discharge at the end but now I'm seeing it very heavily at the beginning and end of my periods. This has been happening before almost every period and I'm wondering if it is normal. I've been reading posted messages on the forum that mention implantation bleeding but I've been taking my pills regularly so I really don't think I could be pregnant. I do see some normal bleeding with the brown discharge but the bleeding only lasts for a couple of days. Please help, I'm really concerned that the odd color means that something could be wrong.
