My suggestion is to get a second opinion, it doesn't hurt, and while the other doctor may agree that you need the surgery, it will also help you to feel more comfortable that it is the right thing to do. Endometriosis is only definitively diagnosed with surgery, so it is likely that your doctor suspects that it is the problem you are having. Most of all, make sure that you talk with your doctor, and make sure that you are comfortable with the surgery, and what is going to happen if and when you do have it.
