Reply: William McIntosh, MD: "Re: I stopped taking the pill...." I have been taking triphasil-28 for about 2 years now. My husband and i have decided to have a baby, so i quit taking the pills. Usually when i was on the pill my period would only last about 5 days. However, i just stopped taking bcp this past week. I stopped my period, as usually, in about 5 days. However, today 6 days later, i started bleeding again. It's different then usual though. It's darker blood then usual. I'm just wondering, is it normal to spot after stopping to take the pill.
