depo-provera

I had my first shot of depo in march and have been bleeding almost steadily since, only usually just very lightly but still i was wondering if there was anything i could take to stop the bleeding (bleeding so long kind of defeats the whole purpose of getting the shot, because either me or my bf really want to have intercourse when i am menstruating. I am also worried because a friend of mine told me that after 4 shots of depo you can become infertile. My bf and i want to have another baby in the future and so i was worried about this and wondering if it is true. As it is, if this bleeding is going to continue and if there is such a great chance of becoming infertile, i'm not sure i want to continue taking depo, but the pill proved ineffective (only because i can't remember to take them) and i don't really know what else to rely on besides condoms, is there a better alternative? can someone help?
