I resolved to have it done because I just can't stand the attacks anymore, and the pain/nausea that follows every meal. Plus I'm getting some serious indigestion lately and I know if I keep putting it off, I'll end up with a ulcers, if not worst. I have a very important questions. First, what kinds of tests should I be asking/looking for other than the usual sonogram/ct/hemotology workup? You mentioned you had it the old way. I'm anemic and was exposed to Hep-A during a transfusion at the age of 8. That was the bad experience I mentioned I mentioned. So there's a good chance I might have to get it the old way but I thought of this and it seems to be working as a motivator - once I'm under, I won't know anyway until it's over with and I just want to go back to a normal life. This has really taken over. I'm studying to be a teacher and to work with kids which I adore :-) Another question is you mentioned you had this done. How was the recuperation? Was it very painful afterwards, and how long did it take you to get up and about, have the stitches removed? I read that removing the gall bladder can shuts down the body's resource of organic sodium. I guess there are medications that have to be taken. Will I need to be on them for the rest of my life? Thank you so very much for helping out, Dianne Dimino
