switching pills

I have been on Ortho Novum 777 for almost ten years now.Every year when I go in for my yearly gyn visit I ask if I should switch to a lower dose pill.Three different doctors have said that since I don't have any "problems" I shouldn't switch. I am wondering if even though I don't have "problems" would a lower dose pill be healthier?I do have mild discomfort that is associated with the pill(i.e. moodiness, breast tenderness, lower libido) Would these be more mild on a lower dose pill? Also, if I do switch pills do I need to worry about pregnancy the first month or two while my body adjusts to a different pill? **Leah**
