Ovulation on BCPs

I know that while on BCPs, a woman doesn't ovulate. However, around the time when I would regularly ovulate, I still get some cramps, my breasts are a bit sore, and I tend to have some breakouts. Is this normal? I heard from my OB-GYN that sometimes ovulation can occur while on BCPs. How often does this occur in women who take their pills perfectly and how can you tell if you are in fact ovulating? Does it depend on the woman, or does ovulation happen simply because pills are missed? Also, is it possible for a woman to be pregnant and still have normal periods while on BCPs (provided, of course, that she took them perfectly)? One last question (I promise)...Is taking one pill an hour or two late (only occasionally) not protect you from pregnancy? I guess I'm asking how sensitive the pills are to taking them on time. In advance, thanks a lot for any help/advice you can give!
