Let us make sure you are counting correctly. Docs measure cycle length from the start of one period to the start of the next period. We do not figure in days of bleeding into this equation. You generally ovulate ~ 14 days before the START of the next period. Thus, if you are regular, 24-26 days from start to start, you should be ovulation on day 10 or day 12 (counted from the start day of your period). Now if your period lasts 5 days and you have sex 2 days later, that is day 7 of the cycle. This is a little close for comfort if you are ovulating on day 10, but not too bad if ovulating on day 12. The bottom line to all this...if you do not want to be called MOM, you should always protect. Good Luck
