Interstitial Cystitis (look in the archives on the Women's Health Forum for information) can cause burning even in the absence of infection. Urethritis, which from what I researched when I was diagnosed is more common in men, but can happen in women, can also cause burning on urination (I had it after a Cystoscopy was done). The Urologist will do a thorough exam and be able to tell you more after that. Good luck to you!
