The pre-ejaculatory lubricating fluid that is produced by the male usually contains sperm, this is one reason why the pull out method is not reliable at all. Depending on your cycle length and how long your period lasts, the 4th day fater the flow could be getting into the early end of the fertile portion of the cycle.
