I am trying to find any helpful information formy sister, which is 11 weeks pregnant. She has been seeing her Dr. on a very frequent basis and each time he has something different to tell her. Her problems began in the first few weeks of pregnancy they found a cyst on her right ovary. Two weeks later she went back to have another ultrasound and the baby was progressing normally, but on her right ovary there were now 2 cysts that were the size of oranges. She has had 2 ultrasounds since that visit and the baby seems to be doing fine but the cysts are now the size of grapefruit and we are all becoming worried. The NP she saw at he last appointment took her out of work and told her to rest and that hopefully the cysts would rupture. My sister has spoken to her DR. on Friday and her told her that there are bilateral cysts and that if they rupture she will lose the baby. If they don't the baby will probably have abnormalities. He wants her to wait a month and they will do another ultrasound and at that time he will set her up with a High risk Ob/gyn. I can't find anything concerning this matter on the net. Her Dr. said that the condition was very rare but I thought this maybe a good place to get some information. My sister has carrried 2 babies with out difficulties. I am concerned that her Dr. is not giving her enough information becuase he has never dealt with this before, which in turn is making my sister worry way too much. I would appreciate any information.
