Mircette and PMSFrom: Anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Feb 2001 22:46:53 -0600 (CST)
I have been on Demulen for 6 years. I have always had PMS with depression and mood swings on Demulen. Now I am having breakthrough bleeding, so I want to try a different pill. I was under that impression that I should go on a pill with a lower dosage of progesterone to address the PMS side effects. However, my doctor prescribed me Mircette, even though it has a higher dose of progesterone than I have ever been on. She seemed to think that the lower estrogen dose with Mircette would help the PMS symptoms. Should I be concerned that the Mircette will make my PMS symptoms worse since it has such high levels of progesterone?
