A Pap Smear is when they take cells from the cervix and send them to pathology for exam. This checks for all types of cervical problems up to and including cervical cancer.

A Vaginal Exam is just that, checking the vagina. A Pelvic Exam is a check of the internal organs...ovaries, tubes, uterus.
