Daniel Braun, MD: "Re: Internal Vaginal Swelling" First of all, thank you for your time. I need some advice about internal vaginal swelling... I am 17 and have been sexually active for about a year. I have had one partner and we practice proper "safe sex" methods. Last week I noticed that my lower abdomen was a little sensitive, and later noticed that my vagina has become swollen towards one spot in the back. I was diagnosed with IBS about two years ago, but I don't recall it affecting my vagina like this before. My period is late, and I am experiencing a lot of stress right now. I would like to know if IBS could have anything to do with the swelling and whether or not the swelling is serious. Thank you for your advice. -- Jenny Next message: R.
