Re: 17 Year Old Daughter - Severe Menstrual Cramps

I suffered w/ severe cramps for 4 or so years until I finally got help for it. I went to a gyno and her advice as far as the possibility of endo was, "because the only way to diagnose endo is by surgery, you should try medication first and determine whether or not that helps. If you are still experiencing pain, then look at endo as a possibility."

I ended up with a combination of estrostep birth control and anaprox to stop my 1st day menstral problems. I was so glad that I went, and I am so glad I hit something that works. I would suggest taking her to a gyno if her cramping really bothers her, she shouldn't have to suffer when there are medications that can help her!
