I believe the procedure is called a colposcopy. (I think). It sounds like the same thing I had done when I was 23. It's a perfectly harmless procedure that is done right in the doctors office. I think it is just to burn the bad cells away. There's nothing to it. The only pain was some cramping after the procedure was done and a lot of discharge. I was really nervous when I had it done, but it turned out to be ok. Tell your sister not to worry, if they have ruled out cancer and don't know what the problem is, it's best to get those bad cells out before something could develop. Hope this eases your mind a little.
