Re: swollen labiaFrom: Harvey S. Marchbein, M.D. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 4 Jan 2001 19:49:14 -0600 (CST)
You need to get someone who can get a handle on why the swelling is occuring. Is is secondary to the infection now (as opposed to infections in the past) or does it have a mind of its own, swellling unexpectedly? There may be some problem with lymphatic drainage (a liquid we all have that comes out of tiny blood vessels and gets reabsorbed) because of recurrent infections, varicose veins or a Bartholin cyst (written about in the archives). Many Universtiy hospitals have Vulvar specialists and this may be the place for the diagnosis to be made. Good luck. Hope this helps and write back anytime for more information. HSM
