The odor and discharge could be from Bacterial vaginosis, a retained tampon or other foreign body. Seeing a Gynecologist woudl be a good idea to find out. It sounds like you are over 18. If so, that is the age at which the first pap smear is recommended.

The overall likelihood in the general population is around 1%. I think your risk would be increased but still probably less than 2%.
