The Pill and Acne

I used Tricyclen for 6 months and it worked really well on my skin. I had a bit of acne that I'm very self-conscious of. Last month, I switched over to a lower-hormone pill, Minestrin, in hopes of alleviating some of the bad side effects: decreased libido and weight gain. I've been on Minestrin for the last 2 weeks and it looks like I'm starting to break out and the weight is not leaving. I'm really thinking of going back to Tricyclen because I can't stand the acne.

Could this acne be temporary? When I first started Tricyclen, it took a couple of months before I really noticed a difference in my face, so I'm wondering whether I should wait it out. However, I'm wondering whether Tricyclen would be better for me, since it has been clinically proven to clear up acne. Please advise...
