tissue-like discharge with no bleeding

Hi there.

I am a 20-year-old woman who has never been sexually active and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome last year. At that time, I underwent treatment (glucophage) prescribed by an endocrinologist. She ran blood tests at that time, but did no physical exam. After a few months of fighting the nausea and dizziness from the Glucophage, I stopped taking it. At the same time, I quit seeing that endocrinologist, mainly because she seemed so sure of her diagnosis that she never ran any tests on me.

Lately (as in the past three months or so), I have noticed a new problem that, as far as I can tell from reading on the Internet, is in no way related to PCOS.

Every few days -- like every week or so -- I have a tissue-like discharge when I urinate. It is a brownish color, and is much like the tissue that discharges with normal menstruation. However, there is no blood. None. When I was taking the Glucophage, I had what I consider to be the most normal menstruation of my lifetime, but there was relatively little blood involved there. After taking the Glucophage, I stopped having any cycle for about two months, and then I began to discharge this brown tissue.

If this discharge occurred every month (like a normal cycle), I would write it off as one of those strange symptoms of PCOS. However, since it occurs every week -- and sometimes more often -- it scares me.

What do you think it could be? Kate LemonKitty@aol.com
