Re: Colposcopy needed--related to mycoplasm and vaginitis?From: Eve (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 2 Nov 2000 12:07:41 -0600 (CST)
Thank you for responding. I've had two bad Pap results in a row. My doctor just told me that I tested positive for the wart virus--I am assuming HPV. And this scares me. She did say that it didn't necessarily mean that I had warts. But since I did test positive, does this mean I have HPV? Because I have been having unprotected sex with my partner, I feel confusion on the source of infection. Is it possible that my partner CANNOT be infected? (I hope!) Also, is there any way to keep my vaginal tract clean and healthy to avoid future manifestations of other HPV strains if this is the case? I am going to get my colposcopy in two hours. Any comments very much appreciated.
