The only problem with stopping Depo is that you cannot be sure when the stuff is going to wear off. You cannot rely on it beyond the 3 months from the last injection, so you are going to need alternative contraception, but you may not resume a normal, ovulatory cycle for months. If you don't have periods now, that may not return for months either. You can resume the Depo if you chose to, but it will be necessary to have positive knowledge that you are not pregnant prior to getting the injection. A simple negative pregnacy test is insufficient for this purpose.
