Birth Control Pill ProblemsFrom: Becca (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 3 Oct 2000 10:01:42 -0500 (CDT)
I'm 23 years old and began using Birth Control Pills for the first time, about a year and a half ago. Before I was ever on any Birth Control Pills, my periods would last anywhere from 5-6 days. I began using a product called "Alysse 28" which caused me very painfull leg cramps, so my doctor switched me to "Ortho-Tricyclen 28" and then to "Loestrin-Fe" both of these medicines resulted in my periods lasting as long as 2 weeks. I would start my period and it would last for 2 weeks, then stop for a week and then start again. My doctor decided to try putting me on the "Depo Shot" which I began taking in mid August. I thought that my periods had stopped, like most do with the Depo, but I have had very light bleeding for about a week and a half then it stopped for about 3 days and now I am having a more heavy bleeding. What is causing all of this irregular/long bleeding? This is very stressfull on myself and my relationship! I feel that I am being a bother to my doctor, your advise would be greatly appreciated!!!
