I began my menses at age 12. I am now 22 years of age I was always a rather heavy bleeder. I have always been irregular also. The only time I have ever been regular was when i was having sex regularly. But I have not had regular sex in nearly 3 years. I have had occasional intercourse, and I was under the assumption that I was pregnant becaue I did not have a period in nearly three months. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. About a week after the test, I began to have my period. I have been bleeding for a month, consistantly. I have constant cramping and also constant clotting. The blood that is coming from my body, is dark, almost black. I have had this condition once before, last year, and i was bleeding then for approximately 6 weeks. When I spoke with the doctor, she had told me that bleeding like this was normal. I have passed clots about the size of a fifty-cent piece. Are their any possible answers? Or was the doctor right, and this is all normal. Please help.
