He wrote 18 years old for pelvic exam, not necessarily sex.

Here is his response:

"I encourage your girlfriend to see a gynecologist fairly soon. Young women should see a gyn when they begin sexual activity. If they have never been sexually active, then age 18 is a good time to start."
